Now, residents will not have to go to the MC office to pay sewerage and water bills or property tax. The Municipal Corporation (MC) has started the online facility for the residents to pay their taxes online, but it is necessary to have a smart card.

Through this smart card people will be able see and pay their sewerage-water or property tax through a smart phone or computer anywhere. According to the corporation, 80 percent of smart card work has been completed and people can avail the benefit. The remaining work of smart card is also going on. In the next one-two months, it will also be completed.

After this, Bathinda Corporation will become the second corporation in the state, where there will be facility of online tax filling. Earlier this facility is running in Mohali.

This has come as a great relief for the residents as earlier residents had to face inconvenience as they have to stand in queues on the last date of bill submission and it was the long pending demand of the residents, which has been fulfilled.

If you have to pay online bill or property tax, first you have to go to MCB Bathinda website, where there will be a link to the online service. Clicking on it will open the link to the online payment service. It has been facilitated to login to the property tax pay online and sewerage-water pay online. You will have to fill in your UID number in it. After this an OTP (One time password) code will be received on your registration mobile number.

After filling this code, all the information related to your property will be opened. In this case, you will be able to know the amount of money in addition to the property tax you have filled. With this, there will be a decision to make payment. You will be able to pay the property tax on online banking or credit or debit card after clicking on it. After payment of money, the automatic payment message will be sent to your registration mobile phone number.

As property tax, the facility of paying sewerage-water bills online has also been made by the corporation. The sewerage-water record has also been updated on the website, but due to some technical problem, it has not started yet, but the corporation claims that this facility will start within a few days. After this, people will be able to pay sewerage-water along with property tax online while sitting at home.
