Bathinda, December 24
Another dog bite incident has been reported in the city in which a pitbull attacked a pedestrian on the Mall Road on Sunday night.
As per information, a few youths were out for a walk with their pitbull pet dog when it attacked a pedestrian. After getting information, NGO Naujawan Welfare Society workers reached the spot and took the injured to the Civil Hospital.
The injured has been identified as Shiva, a resident of Nai Basti.
The stray dog menace continues to haunt city residents while the authorities are still deliberating over a plan to construct a dog pound in the city.
Even the dog sterilisation project is halted. Earlier, Aligarh-based Tripati Foundation was doing this work, but some NGO lodged a complaint against the company and a probe was marked.
Later, the company was found guilty of death of eight dogs and in January the company was blacklisted.
