Poem recitation, declamation contest held at DAV College

The Student Welfare Association of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College (DAV) on Thursday organised a poem recitation and declamation contest here.

Many students participated in the programme and deliberated on many thought-provoking ideas. They expressed eloquently various issues in their speeches and poetry.

In poem recitation event, Karun Sharma (BSc III) and Muskaan (BA III) bagged the first position and second positions for their self-composed poems. Lovish Garg (B.Com II) and Akashdeep (BA II English Hons) bagged the first and second positions, respectively, in the declamation contest.

The principal of the college, Dr Sanjeev Sharma, vice-principal of the college Prof Varesh Gupta and staff secretary Prof Maheshinder Singh congratulated the winners and the participants.

Dr Sanjeev Sharma expressed his pleasure over the subtle, finely nuanced outpourings of the students.

He appreciated the efforts of deans, the Student Welfare Association, prof Satish Grover and prof Shishpal Jindal and said such units of the college were a perfect medium of tapping into creativity skills of students.

The programme was adjudged by Dr Neetu Purohit, prof Manpreet Kaur and prof Sumedha Bector.
