Addressing the protest, Swaran Singh Aulakh, Jarnail Singh, Narinder Kumar, Jagroop Singh and others said reinstatement of dismissed employees, withdrawal of move to curtail 33 per cent pension, new regular recruitment, regularisation of contractor and temporary employees were some of major demands.

They said during the Lok Sabha election, the real issues pertaining to employees were missing and all the parties had not cleared their stand towards them. They said a large number of post were lying vacant at Transco and Powercom, due to which workers were burdened with overwork.
