PSU seeks arrest of assault accused

A deputation of the Punjab Students Union and Naujawan Bharat Sabha today met the Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg and submitted a memorandum of their demands.

Elaborating on their demands, the union members stated that those accused of attacking PSU activist Kala Mohammad in Faridkot in November last year must be arrested. It is pertinent to mention here that the police had booked ten persons, including three lecturers of Government Barjindra College of Faridkot, under attempt to murder charge for attacking Mohammad.

The police had registered cases against lecturers Navdeep Shekhar, Parminder Singh and Pritam Singh, and NSUI activists Sukhdeep Singh, Gora Brar, Harveer Singh, Jaggu Brar, Bittu, Gopi Brar and Parminder Singh for attempt to murder. The lecturers however, had claimed that they had no role in the attack and were being falsely implicated.

They also demanded that the police cases registered against state president of the union, Rajinder Singh and other students be cancelled, PRTC employees accused of misbehaving with girl students be brought to book, register case against SAD leader Dimpy Dhillon who owns New Deep Bus Service, a bus of which crushed to death a girl students a few months ago.
