City resident Sukhdev Ram Bansal, who is also a member of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC), has demanded that Firozepur-New Delhi Shatabdi Express be converted into Janshatabdi at a meeting of railway officials held in Ambala on July 20. Dinesh Kumar, DRM Ambala division, was also present at the meeting.
Bansal also demanded that the arrival time of the train in Delhi be at 10am instead of 11:30 am. He said more apartments should be added to the Sriganganagar- Haridwar train seeing huge rush of passengers.
The DRUCC member said the Sriganganagar- Nanded train should be run every day. Bansal also raised the demand for the extension of a washing line. He said at present, there were two washing lines for ten bogies and 15 bogies but all trains had 20 to 25 bogies.
Bansal said DRM Ambala division Dinesh Kumar and Senior DCM Praveen Diwedi listened to his demands and assured him that they would look into their demands.
He said from now onwards, the reservation counters would remain open till 10 pm as currently it remained open till 8 pm. Escalators would also be installed at the station soon, he added.
