Sabha seeks employment for youngsters of the state

Members of Inqalabi Naujawan Sabha during a convention in the city demanded the implementation of Employment Guarantee Act. Representatives of the unions said: “ The successive governments have failed to fulfil their promises of providing employment to the residents of the state.”
Kamaljit Singh, president of the union said: “Contrary to the claims of the Union Government to generate two crore employment opportunities and state government’s ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri’ scheme has failed to show any result on ground rather unemployment has increased manifold today.”
“Unemployed youngsters have been committing suicides. In the absence of employment opportunities, private firms have been exploiting youngsters and showing scant regard for labour laws,” he added.
Singh said: “Unemployed youth are also falling prey to drug menace as well. The privatisation of different sectors must be stopped and employment must be taken in the ambit of fundamental rights. All contractual employees who have rendering their services in government departments for years, must be regularised as soon as possible and the exploitation of working class at the hands of corporate houses must be stopped.”
