Irate over not getting their salaries for the past six months, panchayat secretaries of the Malout block today lodged a protest at the Block Development and Panchayat Office (BDPO) here.

Jagvir Singh, president, Panchayat Secretaries’ Union, said, “We have not got the salaries for the past six months. It happened due to the neglected approach of the officials concerned. Earlier, we had taken some advance from the market, but now, people are not even giving us loan. If the department doesn’t release the salaries soon, we will intensify the stir.”
