Sandhu stakes claim to Cong ticket from Bathinda

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) secretary and Punjab Congress delegate Tehal Singh Sandhu on Tuesday staked his claim to the Congress ticket from Bathinda for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing mediapersons at the Bathinda Press Club, Sandhu appealed to the Congress high command that if party wanted to win the Bathinda Lok Sabha seat in the elections, they should give the ticket to a local leader or worker.

He said recently he had met Congress Punjab affairs in-charge Asha Kumari and PPCC president Sunil Jakhar in this regard. He said these leaders had assured him that they would consider this demands. Sandhu said he was associated with the Congress for the last 35 years and he was and would remain a Congress loyalist.

Sandhu dared Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to contest from Bathinda. He said this time she would be defeated. The Rajiv Gandhi brigade would work for the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said the Congress would win all the 13 seats in the state.
