Sangat BDPO stands 4th in PCS exam

Keshav Goyal, currently posted as Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) at Sangat in the district, has secured fourth rank in the PCS examinations.
Keshav, who is from Malout, is the son-in-law of Ravinder Singla, XEN, Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB).
Goyal did his B Tech in electronics from Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh.
In his first attempt for the PCS examinations, he was selected as block development and panchayat officer. This time, in his second attempt, he has been selected for an executive post.
His next goal is to crack the UPSC examination for which he has started preparation.
While talking to Bathinda Tribune, Keshav Goyal said, “Hard work and belief in my own strengths were the keys to my success.”
He said he went to Abhimanyun IAS Study Circle in the city to get coaching for the exam.
Goyal said along with working as BDPO, he used to study five-six hours everyday.
Working as BDPO helped him a lot to crack the examination, he added.
MCB XEN Ravinder Singla said it made them really proud that his son-in-law had achieved the fourth rank in the state.
He has always been hard-working and strikes a balance between his job and home very well, he added.
“We feel immense pleasure in the fact that he will now go on to become an executive officer,” he said.
Apart from him, Gursukhwant Singh Brar scored seventh rank and Rajneesh Kumar scored 47th rank in the ex-servicemen category. Both are from this region.
