Security guard Gurdeep Singh was today produced in the court by the Government Railway Police (GRP) after the end of his two-day police remand, which was extended by another two days.
Gurdeep Singh was arrested by the GRP in an incident that took place at the oil depot at Phoos Mandi where Pardeep Singh alias Babbu was killed in firing.
The GRP had registered a case against him under Section 304 of the IPC on the statement of Tara Singh, father of Pardeep.
Harjinder Singh, SHO of the GRP police station, said Gurdeep Singh would be produced in the court on October 29.
A clash took place between villagers and the security guards on October 23 as villagers allegedly threw stones on security guards as the latter stopped them. One person was killed in the incident.
Villagers protested in front of the GRP police station to take action against the accused security guards.
