Residents of Beant Singh Nagar are a harassed lot as the town has been lacking in basic facilities, infrastructure and development. Sadly, the Municipal Corporation seems to have closed their eyes to the problems being faced by the residents.
During a visit to Beant Singh Nagar, Bathinda Tribune found that the whole residential area stinks. Even the stagnant sewage overflow on roads as well as near houses was found to be carrying algae. Moreover, the garbage, which has not been lifted by MC employees for the past many days, is stinking.
The residents of the area allege that despite lodging many complaints to mend the sewage overflow and lift the garbage from the residential area to the Municipal Corporation, no steps have been taken so far by the authorities concerned. Even due to the sewage overflow in the whole residential area the potable water which comes to their houses also seen mixed with the sewage dirty water.
