Bathinda, March 20
Jagjit Singh Jeeta, a shopkeeper on Ajit Road, today demanded immediate arrest of more than a dozen persons who attacked a servant employed at his shop, a few days ago.
Gurdas Singh, a resident of Ghudda village, said unidentified goons entered the shop and attacked him without any reason.
He said the goons were still active in and around the shop and carry weapons. Despite informing the control room by dialling 100, policemen failed to protect him.
Gurdas said though a local area leader, associated with a senior SAD leader, entered into heated arguments with the shop owner. But instead of saying anything to the owner the goons beat him up, he added.
Cantonment SHO Karamjit Singh said efforts were on to nab the hired goons who were professional criminals. A case has been registered against them and their faces have been captured in a CCTV camera. They would be arrested soon, the SHO said. — TNS
