Sports Chowk in Mansa gets pictures of young achievers

The Sports Chowk, located on the Mansa-Barnala road junction, has been adorned with the pictures of young achievers from Mansa who have made it big on the national and international levels. The chowk has an addition of pictures of three new achievers along with the previous gold and silver medal winners.

Giving this information here on Thursday, Mansa Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said Datewas village youth Balpreet Singh was representing the American football team in Spain during the World Football Championship. Similarly, Bajewala village youth Amritpal has been selected for the Indian football team four side. Another youth from Jatana Kalan village Ramanvir Singh has brought laurels by scaling the Mount Everest and unfurling the Tricolour.

The Deputy Commissioner said the Mansa youngsters had proven their mettle in every field and the district administration had always been encouraging them to achieve new goals. She said the young achievers’ pictures have been added to the board put up at the chowk so that local youngsters could be encouraged to follow suit.
