Dr Punam Suri, president, DAV college managing committee, New Delhi, and his wife Mani Suri laid the foundation stone of the student centre-cum-food court on the premises of the DAV College here today.
The college authorities gave a warm welcome to Dr Suri. NCC cadets, under the leadership of Rajesh Batra, gave a guard of honour.
Girls students of the college presented a welcome song. The chief guests were honoured with a shawl. The ceremony was performed religiously with the recitation of ‘gayatri mantra’.
Dr Suri said the aim of the institution was to widen its horizons and it would work constantly to spread the message of education to the nation at large.
Principal Dr Sanjeev Sharma thanked Dr Suri for gracing the occasion with his presence. He said Dr Suri had always inspired and motivated the institute.
The Principal assured him that the college would keep working with utmost zeal and follow the principles and values laid down by the pioneers of the DAV fraternity.
