After the welcome note by assistant professor Dr Satwinder Kaur, the programme began with a Sarasvati Vandana.

The children utilised the platform to the utmost by entertaining all those present during the programme. They shook their legs to the beats of songs such as ‘Bum-bum bole’, ‘Hawan karenge’, ‘Lungi dance’, ‘Manva laage’ and ‘Dhum dhum dhol baaje’.

The hall also reverberated with the soulful melodies such as ‘Aye mere watan ke logon’, ‘Chhoddo kal ki baatein’, ‘Nanha munna rahi hoon’, ‘I have a dream’ and ‘Heal the world’.

A fancy dress competition saw children dressed as water drop, tree, a little princess and spider man among other objects and animals.

The chief guest at the event, Dr Kumkum Kohli, was enthralled to watch the performance of the students and blessed them with a good life ahead.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof RK Kohli, pleased with the performance of the kids, reiterated that simplicity should be the motto of everybody’s life and the children should be taught to have no pretensions and lead their life with honesty and dedication.

A vote of thanks was delivered by assistant professor Dr Monisha Dhiman, one of the organisers of the programme.
