Tech varsity held PhD entrance test

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, recently conducted a national-level PhD entrance Test “PET-2016”. 74 candidates out of 89 who had registered online for the test from several states appeared in this examination.

PET-16 includes computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and computer applications, pharmacy, management, physics and chemistry, under the faculties of engineering and technology, pharmacy, science and commerce and management.

At the end of examination, the answers were transferred to the mail box of individual examinees. Dean (R&D) office of MRSPTU also offered 24x7 helpline for PET-2016. The examinees were allowed to file their queries and objections to any question or answer, within next 48 hours.

GKU students placed in TSPL

A placement drive was recently conducted by Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, Banawala at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo. Passing out students of Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering and Technology 2016 batch of mechanical and electrical engineering participated in the placement drive.

As part of the recruitment drive, aptitude test and technical interview were conducted by Sudhir Kumar, additional general manager human resource department of TSPL and his assistant Saket. As many as 45 students participated, of which 22 were shortlisted for technical interview and nine students finally made it to the apprentice trainee engineering in TSPL.

Prof Mehboob Singh Gill, dean, GGSPC, took the initiative of conducting the placement drive and congratulated the students on their selection. Varsity managing director Sukhraj Singh Sidhu congratulated the students and credited Prof Mehboob Singh Gill and staff for nourishing the students. Vice-chancellor Dr NS Malhi also congratulated the students on their selection.

Students of BEd shine in examination

Students of BEd, Ist semester, at Baba Farid College of Education, Bathinda, came out with flying colours in the examinations conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala, the results of which were recently declared by the university.

Lipika Rani topped the merit list of the college by securing 83 per cent marks succeeded by Raspinder Kaur and Sumandeep Kaur both of whom secured 82.8 per cent marks to bag the second position in the college while Indu Rani secured 82.4 per cent marks to be placed at the third position in the college.

While 10 students scored more than 80 per cent marks , 32 students scored more than 75 per cent marks, 21 students scored more than 70 per cent marks.

Vice principal of BFCE, Kulwinder Singh and chairman of Baba Farid Group of Institutions Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal congratulated the students, their parents and staff members on the academic achievement of the students.
