Jai Singh, a bodybuilder from Kotkapura, even after achieving a lot at the national and international level, is disappointed as he has not got any help from the state government for pursuing his goals.
Jai Singh practised hard and won gold medal at the national level in bodybuilding and got second position in Japan, with the monetary help from his friends and relatives.
While talking to mediapersons, Jai Singh said his father used to work as a labourer and they were seven siblings. Notwithstanding the poor economic condition of his family, he pursue his career in games.
In the beginning, he was attracted towards wrestling, but due to non-availability of coach, he had to leave wrestling.
He said in 1997, he won a gold medal at the district level bodybuilding championship at Jaito and continued to maintain this victory in the next year in 1998.
He claimed that from 2001 to 2015, every year he had been winning gold medal and recently, he won a silver medal at the Japan Asian Bodybuilding Championship.
He said he was not in a position to participate in the international event but his friends and relatives helped him financially to go to Japan.
So far, he has won 12 gold medals at the state level, six gold and two silver medals at the national level and all-India inter-university gold medal among other distinctions, he added.
He said currently, he was preparing for the world bodybuilding championship, which was going to be held at Spain from November 6-9 this year.
