Bathinda, August 3

Employees of the GNDTP (Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant) Contract Workers Union today staged a protest in the afternoon in front of the gate of thermal plant. They protested from 2 pm to 5 pm in foavour of their demands.

Earlier, the employees protested against the state government for not paying their one-month salary on time.

GNDTP Contract Worker Union leader Jagroop Singh said, “We have been demanding the regularization of job for the long but it has not been fulfilled. Neither the government nor the management has paid any attention to our demands. We will intensify our agitation if the government fails to meet our demand of regularisation.”

“Workers of the GNDTP staged the protest for a few hours outside the plant in favour of their demands. There are more than 27,000 employees working in the GNDTP and the PSPCL. Our salaries get delayed and all these employees have to suffer a lot as they continue their work without salaries. The government has to regularise us,” added Jagroop Singh.
