Twin brothers Sahil Bansal and Rahul Bansal have once again brought laurels to the city by making their place on the top 50 of the medical entrance exam conducted by the coveted All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, the result of which were declared today.

While Rahul was placed 23rd on the merit list, Sahil grabbed 40th position. This is not the first time that the brothers have tasted success. Earlier, in May, they had managed to make it to the top 20 list of the Punjab Medical Entrance Examination, results of which were announced on May 19. While Sahil had grabbed fourth rank, Rahul secured 12th rank in the examination.

Speaking to TNS, Rahul, who was on his way to Bathinda from New Delhi, said, “I am delighted to have bagged 23rd position on the merit list but Sahil was expecting a little better.

The brothers also shared that they had taken inspiration from their paternal aunt, who is a doctor, to take up the profession. Both the brothers now pursue a common goal of becoming doctors to serve the poor and the needy. They also echoed that once qualified as doctors, they would like to bring the medical facilities to the doorsteps of those who need them the most.

Meanwhile, the counselling for AIIMS will be conducted in the first week of July.
