Two arrested with 18 boxes of illicit liquor

The Bathinda police claimed to have arrested two persons and have recovered 18 boxes of countrymade Mota Santra illicit liquor from their car. The Kotfatta police have registered a case against the accused. Meanwhile the car driver fled the spot.
SSP Swapan Sharma said to stop smuggling of illegal liquor, the CIA staff had done a barricading and was conducting checking at the border of Kotfatta village.
CIA officials stopped the Verna car (bearing registration number DL 3C BF 3286) and during checking, 18 boxes of illicit liquor were recovered. The police arrested two persons who were travelling in the car. The arrested accused have been identified as Jagdeep Singh and Balkaur Singh of Bathinda district. The accused driver who fled the spot has been identified as Binder Singh. — TNS
