Maintenance and cleaning work of the sewerage system at Mandi Killianwali in the Lambi Assembly segment has come under the scanner of the Vigilance Bureau, which has initiated a probe to find out shortcomings.

Some residents said sewage overflows despite spending huge money on the cleaning work.

A team of the Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday had visited Mandi Killianwali and recorded statements of some residents. Team members said if someone was found guilty, action would be taken as per the law.

Notably, SSP (Vigilance), Ferozepur, Hargobind Singh, DSP (Vigilance), Muktsar, Raj Kumar Sama and other officers of the department had gone to the site for an inspection. Officials of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department were also present on the occasion.

Vigilance sleuths said they would now investigate the official records.
