Veenu Badal performs groundbreaking ceremony of sewerage project in city

Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s wife Veenu Badal on Saturday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for laying sewerage on Multania road area at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore approximately.
Residents of Ward No.40 were happy to see their long-pending demand for laying the sewerage was met within a week. A week ago, Veenu Badal had visited the area and the residents had demanded for the sewerage.
Talking to mediapersons, Veenu Badal said development of the city was our agenda and several new projects were coming up in the city. A solar power project for the city is under planning which will be environment-friendly and energy-saving, besides being cost effective.
She assured that every citizen would be provided basic facilities like water and sewerage without looking at their political affiliations. No politics would be played on such issues as the Akali Dal did during their 10-year regime.
“This sewerage project will be completed within six months. A total of Rs 1.5 crore will be spent on it,” she added
Residents of the area thanked Vinu Badal for the initiative.
Talking about sports and education, she said, “A 25-metre swimming pool is being constructed at Government School, Dhobiana Basti. The facility will provide a good opportunity to sportsmen to practise for national and international tournaments.
Later in the day, Vinu Badal met and resolved the issues of citizens at the Panchayat Bhawan office. She also visited Joga Nagar and Paras Ram Nagar.
