Volleyball tourney tests students’ agility, strength

An inter-college volleyball competition was organised at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, in which eight constituent colleges of the university participated. Prof Jasbir Singh Sidhu appeared as the chief guest in the competition. Dr Kewal Singh, director, sports and Dr Ravinder Suman, HoD, Physical Education, organised the competition under their supervision.

In the girl’s category, Physical Education College stood first and Agriculture and Education Colleges stood second and third, respectively. In the boy’s category, Basic Sciences College, Physical Education College and Agriculture College secured the first, second and third positions, respectively.

Dr Jagpal Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor, advised the students to take part in sports along with academics for the overall personality development. He also appreciated the efforts of Dr Kewel Singh and the Physical Education College for coordinating the whole activity effectively.

Prof Ravi Kumar, Prof Satpal Singh, Prof Gurdan Singh and Prof KPS Mahi were also present on the occasion. Gurdev Singh Kotfatta did all the necessary arrangements for the competition.
