Woman ends life over husband’s illicit relationship

Infuriated over the illicit affair of her husband, a 32-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan with a dupatta at her house in Lal Singh Basti.
The police have booked her husband and his paramour on the charge of abetment of suicide.
In a complaint lodged with the police, the brother of the deceased, Harjeet Kumar, a resident of the Sukhpeer road area, has stated that his sister Mamta Rani (32), irked over the illicit relation of her husband Amandeep with a woman called Rimpy, a resident of Lal Singh Basti, committed suicide.
Investigating officer Jagdeep Singh said a case under Section 306 of the IPC has been registered against accused Amandeep and Rimpy at the Canal Colony police station. However, no arrest has been made so far in this incident.
In another incident, a woman and her father have been booked on the charge of abetment of suicide.
In a complaint lodged by Jagtar Singh, a resident of Goniana Khurd village, it has been stated that his son Jung (29) had gone to bring his wife Sukhi Devi from her parents’ house but his father-in-law did not allow his daughter to go with him. Irked over which, Jung ended his life by allegedly consuming some poisonous substance.
The police have registered a case under Sections 306 and 34 of the IPC against accused Sukhi Devi and her father Malkit Singh, residents of Sirsa in Haryana, at the Nehiawale police station. However, no arrest has been made so far.
