Following complaints of officials coming late to office, which caused harassment to the common man, the newly appointed Improvement Trust chairman, Vishnu Sharma, has put up biometric attendance system in place.
The system began functioning today and it “would help the trust to ensure that the officials come to office” on time.
“We wanted to make sure that people are not harassed when they approach us for any work. I had received several complaints that officials are sometimes not present in the office or leave their work in between and go out. The system will now keep a check on the officials,” said Sharma.
Vishnu Sharma, who joined the office as the chairman on June 6, 2016, felt the need for a system that records the attendance of employees as earlier employees were not punctual, which affected the working of the body.
“The trust is also planning to install CCTV cameras on the premises. Employees have a positive reaction regarding these measures as it will create a better working atmosphere with more transparency. It is also planning to launch a customer care complaint centre from July 31 to provide better services. The complaint centre will have a toll-free number. The trust is also planning to implement several pending schemes to facilitate the public,” the chairman said.
