The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Narnaul, has sentenced BSNL’s Divisional Engineer (DE) and Junior Telecom Officer (JTO) to one-year jail for misappropriation of public property and criminal conspiracy. The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each on them. They would have to undergo further three-month jail for failure to pay the fine.

In a petition filed in the court, Manish Vashisth of Nai Sarai in Narnaul, had accused DE Ishwar Singh Yadav and JTO Jai Prakash Sharma of misappropriating basic phone sets having caller ID during their posting at Narnaul in 2010. — TNS
