Amarjeet Kaur, who has been elected general secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), has said she will push for gender justice to women workforce. She says she will galvanise, among others, other central trade unions in this regard.

“The government is trying to stultify women’s dignity and whittle down their existing social benefits,” she said adding “The government must be mindful of the rising aspiration and consciousness among women of their democratic rights.”
