Students took spirituality tips at a cultural festival “Sanskar Mahotsav (Varshikotsav) 2017” organised by ALLEN Career Institute Kota on the ALLEN Saakar premises in Kota. Faculties, students, parents and local residents participated at “Bhakti Ki Pathshala”. Giving success mantra to students, Shri Jhalaria Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swamiji Shri Ghanshyamacharya Ji Maharaj said students have to be patient and meditate regularly to achieve their goals. The teacher’s work and the student’s virtue together create a life which plays a role to uplift society and nation, he added. The event was inaugurated by institute director Govind Maheshwari. It was attended by ALLEN directors Rajesh Maheshwari, Naveen Maheshwari and Brajesh Maheshwari.
Manav Rachna varsity, PRSI hold media quiz
The Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities of Manav Rachna International University, in association with the Delhi Chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), has organised an inter-university/college media quiz on its campus. Many college students participated in the quiz which covered spheres of PR, media, advertising, communication, branding and PR leaders and current issues. Kanhaiya Prabhakar and Aakash Verma from Delhi University won the first prize while the second was bagged by Aditya Singh from Campus Law Centre and the third went to Manas Dwivedi and Akash Ranjan Singh from IIMC. PRSI (Delhi Chapter) chairman S Rajagopalan said the association seeks to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of PR as a strategic management function. University Vice Chancellor NC Wadhwa said such events help students in building up an aptitude for lateral thinking, teamwork and decision making under pressure.
PowerGrid observes Vigilance Awareness Week
PowerGrid, Northern Region-1, observed “Vigilance Awareness Week” from October 30 to November 4. Various programmes such as debate, essay, online quiz and slogan competitions were organised for employees and their families in various schools and colleges. Steet play, gram sabha, vendors’ meet and seminars etc were also conducted in the region comprising Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Western UP and Delhi-NCR. Prof MM Ansari, Ex-Information Commissioner, CIC, New Delhi, delivered the key note address as the chief guest at valedictory function held in New Delhi.
Workshop on hydrogen production
Dr SSV Ramakumar, Director (R&D), inaugurated a workshop on the scale-up of hydrogen production through PEC water splitting on November 6. Delegates from National Renewable Research Laboratory (USA), University of Cologne (Germany), Hypersolar Inc. (USA) and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (Israel) attended the workshop. Dr RK Malhotra, DG, Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries and President, Hydrogen Association of India; Dr Sanjay Bajpai, Associate Head, Technology Missions Division, Department of Science & Technology and other senior functionaries from R&D were also present at the event.

SML Isuzu’s Q2 profit down
SML Isuzu Ltd (formerly Swaraj Mazda Ltd) has approved un-audited financial results for the quarter ended September 30 and half year ended September 30, 2017. The company’s total income has decreased to Rs 227.30 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 338.92 crore in the corresponding period. Also, the net loss is Rs 3.36 crore against Rs 9.69 crore. The company said the loss was primarily driven by a 34% drop in sales (quarterly).
BBMB team wins gold in table tennis
A BBMB team has won the gold medal in the 20th inter-central power sector unit table tennis tournament held at Nathpa Jhakri. Ten teams participated in the tournament hosted by SJVNL under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board, Ministry of Power. BBMB chairman DK Sharma congratulated its team, which defeated SJVNL in the finals.
