Consultant selection begins for horticulture market in Haryana
Chandigarh, October 30
The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board is developing the India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) on 537 acres at Ganaur in Sonepat at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Om Parkash Dhankar said the process for selection of a consultant for planning, developing, and marketing of the IIHM had been started.
The market will provide additional alternatives to the farmers for selling their produce. It will also provide storage infrastructure to growers for trading their produce such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, poultry and dairy products as per their convenience.
He said the IIHM would operate on a hub-and-spoke model, wherein market would be hub-linked to commodity specific collection centres, located at key production areas in the state. — TNS
