Dr Raju Kumar Bhandari (Ex-Fortis Escorts New Delhi) has joined Capitol Hospital Jalandhar as consultant nephrologist. He has done DNB nephrology from Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, MD (medicine) from Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, J&K.

CERA passes on GST benefits on faucets to customers

GKU, McGill University, Montreal, Toronto institute, in pact

Guru Kashi University (GKU) has expanded its outreach by collaborating with McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology. In collaboration with McGill University, the GKU will study the factors for higher risks of cancer in the region. The McGill University is known for its research on various aspects of water in relation to agriculture, domestic use and human health. On yet another academic side, GKU and the Canada-based Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (TIPT) have also signed an MoU for academic cooperation.

SCOPE pleads level-playing field in the RTI Act

A two-day National Meet on RTI Act, 2005, organised by Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), was inaugurated by RK Mathur, Chief Information Commissioner, on July 6. Ved Prakash, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, MMTC, and Dr UD Choubey, Director General, SCOPE, addressed the participants. Mathur advised the PSEs to ensure proactive disclosures under Section 4 of the RTI Act, as it will bring down number of queries, save time and reduce fake news.  Dr Choubey, Director General, SCOPE, pleaded for level-playing field by bringing private sector under the ambit of the RTI Act. 

Book titled ‘Beyond Beauty New Pathways’ launched

A book titled 'Beyond Beauty New Pathways' by Dr Vikas Gupta, MCH Plastic Surgeon, was unveiled by Deputy Director and Head of Plastic Surgery, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, on July 7. In his book, Dr Gupta has tried to explain all cosmetic surgeries that they perform in their centre profile studios and Deepak Hospital. He also explained various aspects of medical tourism.
