UAE-based bank Emirates NBD has tied up with Axis Bank and Empays Payment Systems to facilitate transfer of money directly into registered mobile numbers in India from the UAE. The remittance service allows money transfers in 60 seconds to the beneficiary's account through the DirectRemit platform. PTI

Turner appointed Warner Bros Consumer Products’ licensee

Turner International India has been appointed as Warner Bros Consumer Products' master licensee for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Turner will manage Warner Bros’ (WB) portfolio of globally acclaimed franchises, including classic cartoons like Tom & Jerry, The Looney Tunes Show, Scooby Doo along with WB blockbuster movie franchises like Harry Potter and DC Comic's superhero league, including Batman and Superman. LIC launches new endowment plan

LIC on Wednesday launched a new plan — New Endowment Plus. It is a unit-linked assurance plan offering investment-cum-insurance during the term of the policy. Policyholders will have an option to choose from any of the four funds i.e. Bond Fund, Secured Fund, Balance Fund and Growth Fund, as per one’s risk appetite with added convenience of switching between these funds. Tata group’s PE fund to pick up stake in Uber

Tata Opportunities Fund (TOF), a private equity fund advised by Tata Capital, on Wednesday said it will make a "significant" investment in US-based taxi hailing app Uber. The companies, however, declined to comment on the amount being invested and the percentage of stake being picked up. TNS
