Kharola takes over as Air India CMD

NEW DELHI: National carrier Air India today got a new Chairman and Managing Director as senior IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola today assumed charge from incumbent Rajiv Bansal.

National carrier Air India today got a new Chairman and Managing Director as senior IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola today assumed charge from incumbent Rajiv Bansal.

Kharola, a 1985-batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer, was named as Air India CMD earlier last month.

Kharola would be steering the national carrier at a time when the government has started the process for its strategic disinvestment. He was the managing director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd since February 2015.

Kharola will be the third Air India CMD in a little over three months.
