Eyewear online retailer, Lenskart is aiming at expanding its footprint to strengthen its offline presence in tier-I, II, III and IV cities by opening stores. The company is planning to add another 240 stores taking the total tally to 500 by 2017-18. It also aims to enhance its ‘Home Eye Check Up’ service in the city to raise awareness about eye care.
“We are ramping up our operations in these cities to make our presence felt. Currently, tier-I cities contribute 37-38% of total sales while tier-II cities contribute 55%. Further, tier-III towns contribute 8% of the total sales. We want our contribution from tier-III and tier-IV towns to increase further,” said Himanshu Kishore, vice- president (offline business), Lenskart. The company is eyeing a turnover of Rs 290 crore by 2016-17.
In North India, the company is planning to open 16 more stores at key locations in Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Ambala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala and Bathinda by the end of 2018.
It offers services like online eyewear selection, personalised services, quality checks, prompt deliveries, one-year product warranty and 14-day no-questions-asked return policy.
