The vehicle, available in S, L and X series, will compete against Piaggio Ape Truck and models from Tata Motors — Ace and Zip. Powered by m_dura engine, it delivers fuel efficiency of 37.6 kmpl.

Its range comes packed with multiple options, two power trains (11hp and 16hp) and two payloads (600kg and 700 kg) and three deck sizes, to cater to the last mile needs of stand operators and small and medium-scale businessmen and traders.

At the launch, Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “Jeeto validates Mahindra’s philosophy of creating disruptions in the market with an out-of-the-ordinary thinking.”

“A “Make in India” product, Jeeto, will redefine the small commercial vehicle segment in India. We will export it to neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. The company has invested Rs 300 crore on this small commercial vehicle project,” he said.

On the Modi government’s promise of “acche din”, he said the targets (expectations from the BJP government) set a year ago were unrealistic (within a year’s time). We should only look into the present…slow but growing economy and better monsoon prospects and GDP projections.
