Mall of Amritsar organised a cooking competition "Chef Mumma" in association with Taj Swarna hotel on the occasion of Mothers Day. For this initiative, children motivated their mothers to enroll themselves and take part in a live cooking contest judged by chef Saurabh Singh. To salute the talent of winners of "Chef Mumma" -Saloni Bansal, Dr Usha Vyas, Nisha Dhunna and Shalini Kochar -their recipes were compiled in a coffee table book "Chef Mumma". The book was released by Sumit Taneja, General Manager of Taj, Avnish Kumar Singh, Marketing Head of Mall of Amritsar, and Executive Chef Saurabh Singh.

J&K Bank posts net profit of Rs 101.83 crore in H1
J&K Bank has posted a net profit of Rs 101.83 crore for the half-year ended September 2017. J&K Bank Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed attributed the faster-than-anticipated turnaround to the coordinated efforts of operations and administrative teams of the bank across the geographies. Market analysts too have rated the performance of the bank as positive and are expecting similar performance for the remaining quarters of the year. "The incidence of slippages gradually reducing and thrust on recovery has resulted in improvement of net NPA to 4.76% from 6.81% a year ago," Ahmed said.
‘SANKALP’ and ‘STRIVE’ to boost Skill India Mission
Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) and Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) are set to boost the Skill India Mission in the country. SANKALP is Rs 4,455-crore centrally sponsored project, including Rs 3,300-crore support from World Bank whereas STRIVE is a Rs 2,200-crore Central project, with half of the project outlay as World Bank assistance. SANKALP and STRIVE are outcome focused projects marking a shift in government's implementation strategy in vocational education and training from inputs to results building in a strong shift to an outcome based skill ecosystem.
NHPC organises free eye check-up camp in Faridabad
NHPC organised a free eye camp in association with Centre for Sight, New Delhi, at its Corporate Office Complex in Faridabad on October 25 and 27. The camp was inaugurated by Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC. Speaking on the occasion, Joshi said the camp was dedicated to provide high quality and affordable healthcare facilities for its employees. Over 340 employees availed of the benefits of the camp.
Northern Railway goes green to light up stations
Minister for Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal dedicated a 5MW solar power plant to the nation on October 27 during the International Conference on Green Initiatives & Railway Electrification organised by the Institute of Railway Electrical Engineers. An initiative by the Delhi Division and Northern Railway, this is the first largest solar power plant commissioned by Indian Railways having roof-top units on Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi, Anand Vihar and Delhi Jn. railway stations.
