Oil companies put off hike in petrol, diesel prices

A Re 1 per litre hike in petrol and Rs 2.28 a litre increase in diesel prices necessitated due to firming global oil rates has been put off by state-owned oil companies apparently because of Assembly elections in Bihar. IOC, BPCL and HPCL were to revise petrol and diesel prices on Wednesday. PTI

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India ranks highest in brand influence, followed by Hyundai Motor India and Toyota Kirloskar Motor, global market research firm JD Power said. Maruti tops the brand influence with a score of 839 with Hyundai coming in second (767) and Toyota third (744). TNS

Online hiring activity in India registered a 36% rise in August, the highest so far this year, signalling optimism in the job market, says a survey.
