K Sanath Kumar has taken over as chairman-cum-managing director of National Insurance Company Ltd., the oldest and one of the largest non-life insurers of the country. Kumar is an insurance professional with over 36 years of experience in the field.
He has previously worked in various capacities in United India Insurance and New India Assurance as well as the country’s only reinsurer, GIC Re, before joining National Insurance Company.
At a meeting of the corporate management held at Kolkata recently, he emphasised that orienting the company to be a premium sought-after brand would be his prime focus. Towards this goal, the delivery channels would be moulded to increase the reach and improve the quality.
