Having covered 92% of the state’s population through SuperNet 4G, telecom major Vodafone is bullish on Punjab market. To strengthen its presence, it has invested around Rs 1,260 crore on infrastructure and spectrum.
The significant growth in data usage has encouraged it to invest more in new technologies and look at various options to monetise the data more effectively.
Currently, the SuperNet 4G services cover over 20 cities in addition to industrial belts of the state. The services enables customer to access internet via mobile with speeds across a range of smart devices, including Wi-Fi and dongles.
Arvind Nevatia, Business-Head, Punjab, Himachal and J&K, Vodafone, said the company was evaluating options and wherever there are opportunities it will strengthen its presence.
On MNP trend in Punjab, he said, “It has spiked in the past two-three months where a lot of customers on smaller players’ network are migrating to bigger network. Also, customers were seen migrating to networks which are more reliable, established and continuously upgrading infrastructure.”
Meanwhile, the company launched its new set of RED postpaid plans, namely RED Traveler, RED International and RED Signature. The plan offers free national roaming.
