China plans to ban petrol, diesel cars

Beijing: China, the world’s top automobile market, is planning to ban petrol and diesel cars and boost electric vehicles to contain air pollution and restrict traffic congestion. France and Britain have already announced plans to ban the manufacturing and sales of cars running on traditional fuels. PTI

Facebook fined €1.2 m for privacy violation

Washington: The Spanish Data Protection Agency has fined Facebook 1.2 million euros for failing to prevent its users’ data being accessed by advertisers. Facebook has collected personal data from its users in Spain without obtaining their “unequivocal consent” and without informing them how such information would be used, it said. “Facebook's privacy policy contains generic and unclear terms.” AFP
