A written test for posts of Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) of social studies, science (non-medical) and mathematics under the Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh, was held at 16 examination centres in various government schools of the city today.

According to the Administration, the Samagra Shiksha advertised 196 posts of TGT in February this year under which 15,370 applications were received for seven subjects. A total of 10,871 candidates applied for these posts for three subjects and approximately 61 per cent candidates appeared for the written test.

The work related to the recruitment of TGT under the Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh, was assigned to the NITTTR, Sector 26. Examination centres were provided by the Education Department for conduct of written test and examination material and staff were arranged by the NITTTR.

For the smooth conduct of examination, five PCS/HCS officers of the Chandigarh Administration were deputed as independent observers at various centres. A total of 125 police personnel were deputed to undertake the frisking process and to provide security at the centres.

Examination material was shifted by a team of the NITTTR consisting of observer, supervisor, personnel of police and videographer to all examination centres. The entire process, including the opening of sealed packet of question booklet, identification of students, sealing of unused question booklets and used answer sheets, was videographed.

No case of malpractice or any irregularity was reported. The answer key would be uploaded on July 29 on recruit.nitttrchd.ac.in for which a notice had already been uploaded, officials said.
