DAV College held its annual prize distribution today. A total of 661 prizes, including 259 prizes in cash, amounting to more than Rs 10 lakh were distributed among the students.
KS Arya, former Principal of DAV College, Chandigarh, and HR Gandhar, Adviser to President, managing committee of DAV College, New Delhi, were the guests of honour.
Gandhar encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their dreams and make the best use of opportunities.
KS Arya advised the students to imbibe good qualities and live a life that was relevant to society and nation. Principal Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma delivered the annual report and read out academic, sports and cultural achievements of the college.
He congratulated the college and the NSS team for bagging the best NSS unit award by Panjab University second time in a row.
Deepti Madan, convenor of the event, congratulated the students for their accomplishments.
In the cash prize category, 73 prizes were given to the university toppers and position holders and 80 prizes to the college toppers.
