90,000 workers registered under pension scheme

As many as 90,475 workers have been registered under the Prime Minister Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana (PMSYMY) in Panchkula district till now. 

This was stated by Vijay Singh Dhahiya,  Labour Commissioner, during a meeting today.

Dhahiya said a state-level programme for those working under the unorganised sector would be held at Indradhanush Auditorium in Sector 5. He said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Labour and Employment Minister Naib Singh Saini, local MLA Gian Chand Gupta and MP Rattan Lal Kataria would turn at the programme. 

Dhahiya said mid-day meal workers, brick kiln workers, washermen, rickshaw-pullers, landless labourers and handloom workers were among those covered the scheme. The scheme is for those who earn less than Rs 15,000 per month. He said under the scheme, those whose age is between 18 and 40 years, would get monthly pension of Rs  3,000 after the age of 60.

Dhahiya said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will distribute scheme certificates to beneficiaries during the function at Indradhanush Auditorium.
