On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, the GRIID organised a series of programmes, which included workshop for Aanganwadi workers, slogan writing competition, and a play at Sukhna Lake concerning the awareness towards individuals with autism.
Slogan writing competition on creating awareness for autism was conducted at the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID). The competition was conducted in Hindi, English and Punjabi. The prize amount for the first, second and third spot was Rs 1,000, Rs 750 and Rs 500, respectively.
All slogans were displayed at Sukhna Lake at 5:30 pm. The main objective was to make people aware about autism. Certificates and prizes were distributed among winners.
The first, second and third prize in Hindi was given to Jyoti (MEd), Aarti (BEd) and Kamaljeet (DEd), respectively. In English it was Harshdeep (DEd), Ababeel (BEd) and Rini Mathew, who bagged the first, second and third spot, respectively. In Punjabi Himanshi (MEd), Divneet (BEd), Tamanna (DEd), won first, second and third prize, respectively.
There were in all 92 students of DEd, BEd, and MEd of the GRIID, besides MPhil (PSW & CP) and MD, who participated in the competition.
