Panjab University’s student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) ‘Tricolour trip’ traversed the PU campus here today, where Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari and MS Bitta, president of the Anti-Terrorist Front, were the chief guests.
The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ started from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and concluded at the Student Centre through various departments of the campus. Famous Bhojpuri singer and Delhi Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, while addressing the programme at the Student Centre, said: “I am feeling proud and joining this Tricolour journey.”
During the visit, entire Panjab University campus echoed with slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram, Kashmir Ho ya ho Guwahati Apna Desh Apni Maati, Bhagat Singh Teri Soch Te Pahara Daivangge Thokkr.
Tiwari said: “Today, some anti-national forces want to trick the youth and engage them in anti-national activities, against all such forces, we have to fight together and rise up above politics.”
Addressing the students, the president of the Anti Terrorist Front, MS Bitta said: “Some people are talking about separating Punjab from India; they should give up this idea otherwise the people of this country will not take time to destroy them.”
The student gathering was also addressed by National Secretary Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Hema Thakur, Punjab Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Secretary Chiranshu Ratan. At the end, Paras Ratan, the convener of the yatra thanked all students who participated in it.
