Fatehgarh Sahib, June.13.
All 301 villages falling in the district will be covered under the state government’s smart village scheme and the overall development of the villages will be ensured at a cost of Rs 27 crore, said Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Goyal while presiding over a meeting called to review the ongoing development projects related with the scheme.
The DC said developmental projects such as laying of sewerage system, development of village ponds, re-carpeting of streets and roads, construction of parks, playgrounds, stadiums, gymnasiums, installation of CCTVs, bus shelters, development of cremation grounds, water supply, waste management, development of schools and civil dispensaries, etc., were part of the scheme.
He said cleanliness work of village ponds would be initiated on priority. Ponds would be filled with clean water that would further be used for irrigation purpose. — OC
