Many applicants said due to the curfew, they could not visit the passport office. A majority of applicants were from Patiala and Rajpura. “We could not make it to the city yesterday due to the curfew,” said a group of youngsters. The authorities maintained that the office continued to operate even as the curfew was clamped in parts of Punjab and Haryana following the violence in Panchkula.
