Arnav powers NWCA to victory
Panchkula: Arnav Bansal hit a 63-ball 97 before claiming a couple of wickets to help Narinder Walia Cricket Academy (NWCA) register a 66-run win over Surajbhan Dreams Cricket Academy (SDCA) in an Autumn Cup cricket tournament match at St Soldiers School grounds here on Tuesday. Batting first, NWCA rode of Bansal knock to score 228 runs 29.1 overs. Aditya Bisht chipped in with a 27, while Gulzar remained unbeaten on 26. Arun claimed 3/20 for SDCA, while Rohit took 2/40. In reply, SDCA could only manage 162/9 in the allotted 30 overs. Gulzar took 3/23, while Bansal returned with figures of 2/12. Tanmay (35) did the bulk of scoring for SDCA. TNS
Comm XI, Knights play out a tie
Chandigarh: The Champions Corporate Cricket League match between Communication XI and Knights XI at the Mahajan Ground here on Tuesday ended in a tie. Batting first Communication XI scored 119/8 in 20 overs. Mahaveer made 23 runs, while Rajeev added 20 runs to the total. Deepinder Ohri (3/17) and Gurcharan (3/24) claimed three wickets each. Defending a modest total, Communication XI attack managed to restrict Knights XI to 119/8. Pawan (2/14), Rakesh (2/16) and Honey (2/26) took two wickets apiece. Abhishek (30) did the bulk of scoring for Knights. Pankaj contributed 26 runs to the chase. TNS
