Even though there was a forecast of deficit rainfall, August witnessed normal rain.

In August, 230.2 mm rainfall was reported, while 250 mm is considered normal rain. The Meteorological Department said 10 mm to 20 mm rainfall difference was normal.

In August 2018, 291 mm rainfall was reported while in August 2017, it 309.4 mm rainfall was recorded.

Surender Paul, Director, Meteorological Department, said, “Normal rain was reported in August this year. There is a forecast of rain next week. There may be thundershowers in coming days.”

Today’s maximum temperature was recorded 31.6 degrees Celsius, while yesterday it hovered at 35.3 degrees Celsius.
