Patiala, September 10
Jatinder Singh Aulakh took charge as the Inspector General of Police (Patiala Range), today. Aulakh, a 1997 batch IPS officer, was working at IG Headquarters, Punjab. During his joining, Patiala SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu and Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit were also present.
Aulakh has earlier served as the Police Commissioner in Ludhiana, Amritsar, and SSP in Sangrur, SAS Nagar, Khanna, Jagraon and Nawanshahr. Outlining his priorities, Aulakh said maintaining law and order would be his top priority. He said, “Apart from maintaining law and order, he will take strict action against people involved in drug trade.”— TNS
